Two Different Worlds
“Yes, I see
you. Yes, I know you. I hear your words come from my speakers. Yes, I see your
face on the screen. I know your name. I know your face. I know your voice, but
I don’t know you.
Who are you
really? What drives you?
I’ll probably
never meet you or I may have forgotten your name. I might know your friends or
your cousin’s best friend’s sister, but I’ll never know what you’re thinking.
Yes, I like
your music. Yes, I like your acting. Yes, I like your stories, but I’d rather
like your heart.
Did I pass you
on the street? Were we in kindergarten together? Will I meet you in the future?
I don’t know,
but thank you for working so hard to please me.
I may not
speak your language. I may not know your birthday, but I know your life is
highly publicized. None of you asked for this and some of you may feel that you
are losing yourself, but your humanness is what makes you, you. And always
remember your heart above all else.”
Not only to
the actors. Not only to the singers. Not only to the writers, but to all those
who are held high by someone. To all those from whom great things are expected.
(I have placed my hopes on you. I have tried to crush you, and for that, I'm sorry. Please stand tall in who you are because I will live without you and want for you the happiness I hope for myself. So again I say sorry and though my thanks is not worth much, I thank you deeply. - written 31 Jan. 2020.)
