Mask

I know I'm ugly—I see it in the mirror. I see it in my eyes, in the reflection of my soul. To hide my soul, I'll close my eyes.

Look closely at my beautifully painted facade. The beauty mark is really just a scar and the smooth skin is rough to the touch. What hides my self is a created version of me. It looks like me and speaks like me, but it conceals the secrets I keep—a strategic self-portrait that could have been inspired by Van Gogh.

I am honest in my lies and lie in my honesty.

It is not easy to truly bare oneself to another, but I reveal my dark in hopes that it creates light...

Just don't come too close or I'll back away.
