"Maskless", "Where My Soul Lives", and "Existence"
Maskless
I don’t want to take my mask off.
Beneath the fabric, beneath the facades, there’s broken flesh and blood.
Scars and anxiety that penetrate bone.
I don’t want to be vulnerable to the diseases that plague society.
I don’t want to take my mask off—I’m scared of dying in sin.
Where My Soul Lives
My soul is in my laptop.
It’s living in my phone.
My thoughts typed on documents stored in hard drives and magical servers,
Separated from my whole.
Existence
Awash in time.
Feeling every second.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
All together present.
All together gone.
